Course Levels Aligned with CEFR Standards
Our Italian language course levels follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ensuring a globally recognized standard for language learning. The course levels are as per CEFR framework categorizing proficiency into six levels:
- A1 (Beginner): Basic phrases and expressions for everyday needs.
- A2 (Elementary): Simple conversations and understanding common topics.
- B1 (Intermediate): Managing everyday situations and expressing opinions.
- B2 (Upper Intermediate): Communicating fluently in professional and academic settings.
- C1 (Advanced): Complex discussions with ease and nuance.
- C2 (Proficient): Near-native command of the language.
Our tailored courses cater to all proficiency levels, helping participants progress systematically while meeting specific language goals. In order for you to attend the proper course levels we have also here the Assessment Test.
Our A1 Beginner courses are designed to guide you through the essentials of Italian, providing a strong foundation for your language journey.
To ensure a comprehensive and effective learning experience, at Italian Language School the A1 Beginner level is divided into three terms: A1.1, A1.2, and A1.3. Each term is strategically crafted to help you progress steadily from a complete novice to a confident A1-level speaker.
In A1.1, you’ll start with the basics, learning greetings, everyday vocabulary, and essential grammar rules. This term focuses on building your conversational skills and introducing you to the Italian way of life.
Moving on to A1.2, you’ll dive deeper into Italian language and culture. You’ll expand your vocabulary, tackle more complex sentence structures, and gain a better understanding of Italian customs and traditions.
In A1.3, the final term of the A1 Beginner level, you’ll solidify your knowledge and gain proficiency in everyday situations. By the end of this term, you’ll be able to hold simple conversations, navigate common scenarios, and confidently engage with Italian speakers.
Our A1 Beginner courses provide a strong foundation for further exploration of the Italian language, culture, and even more advanced levels of proficiency. The structure of our course levels is always for A1, A2, B1 and B2 based on three terms.

Our A2 Elementary level is divided into three distinct terms: A2.1, A2.2, and A2.3. A2.1: In the first term, you’ll focus on laying a strong foundation. You’ll become more confident in basic Italian conversation, expand your vocabulary, and grasp fundamental grammar rules. This term equips you with the skills to handle everyday situations with ease.
A2.2: Building on the foundation of A2.1, the second term introduces more advanced language concepts.
